COMPANY HISTORY
When I was fourteen years old, I landed my first job as shop assistant at the Landon School Tennis Club. I worked many other summer tennis jobs, competed in junior, collegiate and adult tennis tournaments and taught tennis after college but never imagined that tennis would be the foundation of my business career.
In 1981, I began performing simple court repairs at the clubs where I taught tennis. Soon, I branched out into tennis court resurfacing and game court construction. Sport Systems has built or reconstructed approximately one thousand eight hundred courts and has resurfaced or repaired thousands more.
In 2002, we purchased a ten-acre headquarters in Southern Frederick County, Maryland. The facility is home to our corporate offices, contracting operations and manufacturing facilities. Sport Systems' products include Sport Coat® Brand Acrylic Surfaces for tennis, game courts, in-line skating and playground surfacing applications, Eagle Play Structures® Brand commercial playground equipment and Rally Master Backboards®.
Our success is the result of doing a lot of little things right. In addition to manufacturing quality products, we install our goods with 100% in-house work crews . Of all the Sport Systems advantages, our custom-trained workforce is our greatest asset. Our installers consider their work a craft rather than simply a job. Their pride and good work ethics produce superior products and installations that consistently out perform the competition.
