Interlocking Plastic Tile Surfaces
Some competitors install interlocking plastic tile playing surfaces ("Tiles"). Tile manufacturers generally set up independent game court brokers and then sell them tiles and related court components.
Sport Systems has installed tiles and play-tested numerous brands of tiles. However, we believe that squeegee-applied Sport Coat playing surface is a superior all around surface compared to any brand of tile playing surface.

Tiles are laid over concrete. They are not glued or fastened to the pad
|
When tiles get wet from rain or even damp with dew or perspiration, they are very slippery
| |
Tiles provide much less shoe-to-playing surface contact than surfaces like Sport Coat
|
|
Tiles and inlaid playing lines expand and contract with temperature variations, and can buckle, break apart and shift over the concrete pad. This can cause tripping hazards, irregular ball bounces and constantly changing line dimensions. This requires tile trimming, adjusting and refitting.
